I think Clips4Sale have shot themselves in the foot

Post by davidb2b »

I don't know how many of you are aware of what has been happening with C4S in recent times. Owing to policy changes at Mastercard, they have had to really tighten up their act, and this has led to some problems. To post a clip on there now, I have to upload the photo ID and a consent form for each model, and make various declarations to cover C4S legally. Sorting through those data for 15 years worth of filming has been a time consuming task, and won't end any time soon until every model has been fully documented on their system.

Then things got worse. As of two days ago, they imposed a new rule that all uploaded clips would automatically be set to inactive, pending inspection to ensure that they do not contain material that violates their terms and conditions. I posted Naked Desperation 11 on there about 24 hours ago and it is still pending. They tell me they are inundated with uploaded videos and desperately trying to get through them all. At the very least, they must receive hundreds, if not thousands, of new videos every day, so how on earth are they going to scan them all to check the content? Even at 2 minutes per scan, plus several minutes more for activating the video and notifying the producer, each person can probably only handle 10-15 titles per hour, or about 100-150 in a working day. I have no idea how many people they have on this, but I imagine the backlog is going to grow exponentially.

Needless-to-say, my sales on C4S have been appalling this weekend because there have been no updates. If everyone is suffering in the same way, it must be a profit killer for them too. The founder and owner of C4S, Neil, sold the company about a month ago just before all this started. I guess he could see the writing on the wall and decided to bail before it was too late.

I'm sorry to hear you're getting caught up in C4S's hassle, David! I hope that they sort things out soon and your sales recuperate. It's a smart thing that you have your own video store! Have you ever considered other mainstream platforms, such as ManyVids?

I was going to suggest Manyvids too. It's much more streamlined and I think with how well done B2B trailers are for each individual clip, I think it will cut down on this hassle and maybe even increase or stabilize profits.

Do you think it would be beneficial to upload to Omorashi.org as well? They have a paid section and given the good name of B2B you would have instant brand/quality recognition.

Thanks for your comments. I have looked at alternative platforms, and even started the process with Manyvids. When I saw their list of restrictions though, I stopped. It's just as bad if not worse than C4S. I'm not even sure they would have approved my content. Also, most outlets want far too much of the action, with some asking for as much as a 60% cut. I prefer not to feed the bottom dwellers.

To be honest, I've always seen Omorashi as a bit of a crooked set up. I will admit that there seem to be many variations on the setup, perhaps operated by different people, but historically, they post content that is not theirs and profit from it. As with PornHub, I don't want to get into bed with people I consider to be little more than pirates.

I guess I just didn’t see it from the creator standpoint, but that makes sense. Perspective is a funny thing; I’m also shocked that some places want 60% of the cut. That’s outrageous when you’re the one that’s producing it. Sounds like a creator friendly competitor could come in and make some noise here

I agree with most of the points above, but wanted to chime in about omorashi.org.

It is the only pee-related board that I somewhat follow, and it has great stories/experiences/sightings (if you search well enough). Yes, people there post videos, but these are usually from open-access sources like Twitter, xvideos, pornhub etc. However, they also have a banlist (link) of creators whose videos are forbidden to be posted. I don't know about additional measures (I'm sure there are some), but the offending videos definitely get taken down. It's not a very frequent thing, but I can recall at least one instance where someone put up a B2B video and it got taken down within a day I believe. This would probably be reduced further if the partnership between them and B2B was closer (i.e., selling videos there).

So I think the community there is very supportive of B2B. For example, one of the top results for searching "bound2burst" is this thread that discusses which B2B videos people liked most, which I think is telling :) That being said, I think B2B videos are on the pricy side of things. Other content there (mostly comics I think) is priced at the 1-5 $ range, so I don't know if putting B2B videos there would generate any appreciable income.
