Changing aspect ratio from 16x9 to 4x3

Post by davidb2b »

I am doing battle with this old issue again. When I edited Dying For The Loo, it was a simple clip and I was able to use Smart Conform in Final Cut Pro to crop the picture without ending up with a distorted mess. Alas, it doesn't work for compound clips, and despite numerous efforts to find a workaround, nothing has proved satisfactory. I have tried manually cropping the video but the desired effect is still not achieved. I am experimenting with other software that is supposed to handle this reformatting trick, but so far nothing has worked as intended. I may have to produce more complex clips with the black bars down the sides.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear from you, here or via email.

Thanks,
Dave.
