How to Download Movies from Bound2Burst
Explanations by David North
| STEP 1: RECEIVING MOVIE ACCESS INFORMATION
When you purchase a download, you will receive an e-mail from Bill Darke containing login information for the download page of the movie (or movies) you have purchased. This information will look like this:
If the link, also called a URL (this stands for Uniform Resource Locator, which in this instance is http://www.bound2burst.net/movies/downloads/ginger_set1/gs1.html) is an active link, then click on it. If this is not an active link in the e-mail you receive (for some reason, it isn't always), then copy and paste this information into your browser's navigation bar.
STEP 3. ENTERING USER NAME AND PASSWORD
When you have clicked on the URL, or pasted it into the navigator bar, a small authentication window will open where you need to enter the USER NAME and PASSWORD included in the e-mail you received. The USER NAME is usually intelligible and easy to type in, but the PASSWORD is more complex. To avoid mistyping the password, it's best to highlight the password in the e-mail, copy it, and then paste it into the authentication window.
![]() STEP 4. DOWNLOADING THE MOVIE (OR MOVIES) If all is well, the download page for the movie will now open. Here you will click on the appropriate links to download either a Windows Media Video (WMV) version or a Quicktime (MOV) version of your movie. There is no hard and fast rule about which version to choose, although the WMV version is generally the best choice for PC users, and the MOV version is best for Macintosh users. If you have software over and above the basics provided with your computer, you should be able to play either version of the movie.
To perform the download, click on the link for the movie you want, and use the right mouse button to select a download option such as Save Link As or Save File As or Save Target As, depending on which type of browser you use (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, etc.).
![]() WHAT TO DO IF THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS DON'T WORK Chances are, if you can't access your movie after following these instructions, there is a problem with the password you were issued, or there is a coding error in the html file controlling the download. Occasionally, a movie may be missing - they get moved between servers and sometimes a transfer will fail. In order to help you identify the nature of the problem, please take a look at the download problem page, then report it to either Bill Darke (darke@williamedarke.com) or Dave North (north@bound2burst.net), and one of us will resolve this issue for you. It helps us if you can report the nature of the problem in detail since otherwise we have to go through every step to identify what is wrong. When reporting a problem, it is helpful if you mention which movie is causing you the problem. Just telling us that the password doesn't work means we have to go in search of your order. On a busy day, it can take a little time to track you down, especially if you report the problem using a different e-mail address to the one you used to place your order. Thanks for your cooperation. One final thing: If it turns out that we are responsible for any problem you have downloading your movie, you will be offered a free movie of your choice to compensate you for the inconvenience. This offer does not apply if everything turns out to be fine and you are simply entering your password incorrectly. |
